On December 27 @ 12:55 Meherrin Fire was dispatched to assist Keysville Fire with a commercial structure fire @ 832 Kings Highway. Engine 5-1, Tanker 5-5, and Squad 5 arrived @ 13:06 with a commercial metal frame building with heavy fire showing from the roof. Keysville Engine 71 deployed multiple hand lines, with master stream operations, while Engine 5-1 and Tanker 5-5 set up water supply operations. Drakes Branch Fire was added as a 3rd due, with Bacon District Fire and Charlotte Court House Fire added for tanker operations. Crews made a aggressive defensive attack having the fire knocked down in about 20 minutes from on scene. Squad 5 set up on the "D" side and provided foam suppression, once the incident was safe for offensive operations. Command marked the incident under control @ 14:50. All Meherrin units were released back to service @ 15:21.
