Meherrin Volunteer Fire & Rescue is a 24/7 full service public safety agency. Our department provides fire suppression, rescue/extrication services, public education, fire prevention, and both Basic & Advanced Life Support Emergency Medical Service in both Lunenburg and Prince Edward Counties.

Responds to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured, and to transport the patient to a medical facility. Duties to include: station and apparatus maintenance.
Must be 18 years or older; have a High School Diploma (or GED); VA driver’s license, clean driving record, current EMT certification, CPR and EVOC.
The position is part-time, with varying shifts. Must work nights, weekends and holidays. Applicants must be able to pass criminal background checks. A pre-employment drug test is required.

to be in compliance with Presidential Homeland Security Directive 5 that was put in effect after the September 11th, 2001 attacks in New York City.
